Getting Started with Reunification Therapy

Written by Katie Whiting and Rahyne Motes-Greer on January 15, 2025

At Treasure Valley Therapy, LLC, the following can be expected with court-ordered or court-involved reunification (also known as reintegration) therapy:

Note: the following steps happen after the client(s) are off the waitlist.

Step 1:

  • Each client involved in the case will receive a link to their client portal via email.

  • The client portal will have the necessary paperwork for clients to fill out prior to their first appointment.

    • Clients will also upload court documents via the portal as needed.

  • If wanting to use insurance for in-session work, clients will need to provide their insurance information to the clinic prior to first appointment to determine benefits/copays.

    • If insurance isn’t an option, the out-of-pocket rate is $200 per session and/or per hour.

Step 2:

  • Katie Whiting, LMFT, will meet with each individual involved in the case, one-on-one.

    • Katie may assign another clinician at Treasure Valley Therapy, LLC, to meet with the child(ren) involved.

  • Once all parties have been seen individually, Katie will make a decision on whether or not she will take the case.

Step 3:

  • After the case has been accepted, Katie will provide the parents with a detailed treatment plan and invoice(s) for the intake process and the retainer fee.

    • The treatment plan will include goals for the therapeutic process, as well as the anticipated frequency of sessions.

    • The treatment plan must be signed and the invoice(s) paid in full before sessions can be scheduled.

Additional Information:

  • Katie must be kept informed regarding court dates, hearings, and any other pertinent information regarding the case.

  • If needing to cancel or reschedule, the client(s) must contact the office at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a late-cancellation fee of $200.
