About Laura
My role as a counselor is to connect with you as a client. Some clients yearn for the freedom to have a soft heart, some want to be empowered. I work with clients experiencing life transitions, clients seeking to align with their purpose, clients breaking toxic or difficult cycles - either personally or within their family system, clients healing from trauma and neglect, and clients wanting to live healthier lives, creating fulfilling connections within their relationships - both platonic and romantic. I support clients in making positive changes, big or small. Some changes take hard work, some flow like water. All efforts to change are brave.
I work primarily with adults, teenagers, and preteens. I approach my work from a human rights perspective. I am polyvagal-oriented, focusing on the importance of safety and attachment, and how these factors affect the nervous system and, in turn, daily functioning. I tend to be eclectic in my approach, and find value in, and have used, tools from various theories.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I unequivocally support trans and queer lives and rights. I welcome any and all cultures and ethnicities. I am supportive of consent-based kink interests and lifestyles. I provide warmth and caring for those who need it and a respectful, safe space for all. I am here to support you where you are, in this moment. Call or email me to schedule a free consultation.
